Why does the Website shut down ?
The Members Website members.enex.news is over 8 years old. It is based on the Opensource framework Drupal. After several upgrades over the years, the current version will be deprecated in December. A series of modules and plugins had already been removed. The security concerns are also growing due to Artificial Intelligence.
The Website was created when our distribution technology Newslink was at the core of our News Exchange. Newslink didn’t include a Web portal being fully hardware based. This has changed with NXP, our new core distribution platform, which is in the process of being aligned with the Members Website and offer most of its features with upcoming version 2.0.
The Members website was always a “satellite” of the main distribution system. With NXP 2.0, the Web portal will be the same platform as the distribution system. The Content Management Features will also migrate from on older separate system to enable a fully integrated platform optimising the speed and efficiency of content delivery.
Can I transfer my account ?
Many ENEX partner users have already an account on the current version of NXP. The Drupal accounts on the Website unfortunately cannot be transferred to NXP. The systems are too different.
We strongly recommend to not wait until last minute, but apply for an account on NXP in the next weeks to be prepared. The credentials will be registered on current NXP 1.0, so you can try them out immediately. The accounts will be automatically transferred from NXP 1.0 to NXP 2.0.
We invite you to register a new account on NXP as soon as possible during the next weeks. We created a special easy form with semi-automated processing to assist our team with the transition. The special NXP onboarding form is reachable via this link https://feedback.enex.news
How do I register an account on NXP ?
Please fill out the easy to use form on https://feedback.enex.news
Will NXP 2.0 offer the same features as the Members Website ?
We try to achieve feature parity with the Members Website on NXP 2.0 including the direct 5-6 years long range availability of content. A phonebook feature and an alternative to the Intercom Service Chat are foreseen. You will miss nothing.
Can I register shared accounts on NXP ?
It is possible to register shared accounts even that we don’t recommend them. Note that shared accounts come along with risks.
The risks are password resets leading to a whole team being logged out, security issues as credentials cannot be easily revoked and the problem of loss of access control due to users leaving the company taking credentials with them to other companies.
We strongly recommend to create a healthy amount of distinct accounts to limit the risks of a wider disruption to log in to our platform. Be aware that NXP requires 2FA and requires a mobile Authenticator application. You need to make sure to properly store the original QR code to start a token generator instance to onboard new colleagues. We cannot reproduce those codes.
